The BlackRock Solutions Financial Markets Advisory practice (“FMA”) provides tailored, unbiased advice to holders of complex capital markets exposures:
Valuation and Risk Assessment – derive bottom-up valuations and cash flow projections for illiquid, complex structured finance and derivatives exposures, exploiting proprietary models and capital markets access
Financial Strategy – develop action strategies based on valuation and risk analyses and the current capital markets environment
Asset Disposition and Workouts – provide specialized disposition services, typically for distressed portfolios in long-term workout
The FMA practice focuses on helping clients address unique balance sheet challenges associated with U.S. and European structured finance and mortgage exposures in security, derivative, and whole loan form. Since summer 2007, FMA has managed or advised on approximately $3 trillion in US, £500 billion in UK, and €300 billion in Eurozone distressed mortgage and structured finance assets. Clients include financial institutions, long-term investors, and central banks and finance ministries around the world. The FMA team uses BlackRock Solutions’ suite of data management, financial modeling and analytical tools in executing bespoke advisory engagements.
