Susan L. Wagner
Founder and Vice Chairman, Global Executive Sponsor of WIN |
We stand for powerful women. We wouldn’t be BlackRock without the women on our team. In fact, two of our founders are women. Women lead major parts of our business, guide our strategy and set our policies. Twenty-one percent of our Global Executive Committee are women. Women are integral to the success of BlackRock — and the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) is integral to the success of BlackRock women. In 2011, WIN grew into a global, diverse network representing 17 countries and all business areas, and delivered over 200 high quality programs designed to help members to enhance their impact and grow their careers, connect BlackRock women internally and externally, and raise BlackRock’s profile and brand among women recruits and clients.
WIN’s mission is to contribute to the success of the firm by engaging and fostering the full potential of BlackRock women. WIN supports the career development and connectivity of women throughout BlackRock and beyond. It sponsors speakers, holds seminars and workshops, and networks with professional women outside the firm. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in events designed to develop you, educate you, and help you succeed. You’ll also have the chance to build relationships outside of BlackRock by collaborating with external partners that support our mission, including Catalyst, the Forte Foundation, Financial Women’s Association and the Society of Women Engineers. |

We believe the female leaders of BlackRock are in a unique position to empower other women. WIN arms BlackRock women with a thorough knowledge of our business and industry — information that’s vital for making informed career decisions. Our Managing Director Chats give women at the Director level the opportunity to discuss their careers with the leaders of BlackRock in a small group setting. Through informal, honest dialogue, our leaders help open eyes and doors — and become even more inclusive themselves. Learning how successful women and men navigate their careers is invaluable to women throughout BlackRock.
We also sponsor the WIN Speaker Series, which educates WIN members on various business functions at BlackRock and profiles senior women across the firm. Topics include in-depth looks at our leadership in government affairs and financial policy development, and how we’re helping resolve issues like the European debt crisis.
We stand for connection.
The value of participating in WIN isn’t just what you’ll learn — you’ll also build strong relationships with current and future leaders of the firm. WIN connects BlackRock women around the world and across our firm: from America to Hong Kong, from Japan to India, from administrative assistants to Vice Chairmen — we are united through the network. You’ll have unique access to our leaders through small-group forums designed to foster conversation. You’ll pick their brains in Q&A sessions. Perhaps you’ll ask a follow up question over coffee. You’ll get to know the powerful women, and men, of BlackRock — and vice versa. These are the moments, the relationships, the connections that will help build your career.
We stand for global impact. Join BlackRock and stand with us.
