November 2, 2011 - CollegeSet is partnering with BlackRock to help eliminate financial barriers to higher education for low-income students.
In alignment with the philanthropic focus on helping low-income youth obtain education opportunities, BlackRock and partner organizations celebrated the launch of CollegeSet by ringing The Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange on November 2.
Over the next two years, CollegeSet will help eliminate the financial barrier to higher education for more than 1,000 low-income students.
"We see this as an investment in American competitiveness," says Robert Kapito, President of BlackRock. "In this economy, there are not many low-risk, high-return investment options out there. Education is an exception.”
