BlackRock Solutions Overview

BlackRock Solutions provides clients with access to the intellectual capital, risk analytics and investment platform used to support BlackRock's asset management business. By combining sophisticated risk analytics and investment systems with capital markets and business process expertise, BlackRock Solutions helps clients address a variety of risk management and investment process challenges. The BRS platform is currently used to analyze and process approximately $10 trillion in assets, liabilities and derivatives as of December 31, 2011.

Our Investment Tools are designed to support a highly controlled, scalable and efficient investment management process. Aladdin®, our enterprise investment system, supports the entire investment management process at large and complex organizations. This includes risk reporting, analytics, portfolio management, trade execution, and operational processing. Aladdin's comprehensive suite of risk reports (Green Package®) and interactive fixed income and derivative calculator (AnSer®) are also available on a stand-alone basis. Leveraging the efficiency and scale of our platform, BlackRock Solutions also provides Outsourcing Services, including non-discretionary Hedge Management and Investment Accounting services.

Additionally, we offer tailored solutions for our clients’ business challenges by drawing on our unbiased capital markets expertise. Our Financial Markets Advisory practice focuses on helping clients address unique balance sheet challenges associated with U.S. and European structured finance and mortgage exposures in security, derivative, and whole loan form. Services include providing guidance in managing, restructuring and valuing portfolios.
