Tasos Bouloutas, Ph.D.
Director, Senior Quantitative Analyst
Tasos Bouloutas, CFA, Ph.D, Director and Senior Quantitative Analyst, is a member of BlackRock's U.S. Large Cap Series equity team. He is responsible for developing and maintaining the models used in the investment process.
Mr. Bouloutas joined BlackRock following the merger with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) in 2006. At MLIM, Mr. Bouloutas was a member of the U.S. Large Cap Series equity team and was on the investment committees for the social concerns and International private investors portfolios, contributing to the security selection and portfolio construction processes. Earlier, he was Vice President of risk management at Putnam Investments, where he was responsible for identifying risks in Fixed Income and Balanced portfolios.
Prior to working at Putnam, Mr. Bouloutas was a derivatives trader and risk manager at Bank Boston. He began his investment career at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center.
Mr. Bouloutas earned an BS in electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece in 1982, and an MSc degree and a Ph. D degree, both in electrical engineering, from Columbia University in 1985 and 1990, respectively.
